Senior Leadership Team

Headteacher: Michelle Reysenn

Michelle Reysenn, is Headteacher at Notton House Academy.

Michelle trained as an English teacher in 2001 at Oxford Brookes University, after completing a degree in English Literature at University College Worcester. She has worked in 3 schools previous to Notton House, both mainstream and special education, leading year groups as a pastoral head, and also, being a subject/ department leader.
 
Michelle has experience as Advanced Skills Teacher and a Special Leader of Education; she also has a Post Graduate Diploma in education from the University of Gloucestershire, and has completed a senior leadership qualification (NPQSL).
My educational ethos is achievement for all, which can only be realised through having high expectations and aspirations.

Head of Welfare: Louise Gardiner

Louise Gardiner, is Head of Care and Pupil Welfare at Notton House Academy. Louise was educated at Ysgol Emrys Ap Iwan before joining the Royal Air Force in 1987 where she trained in logistics. On leaving the RAF, Louise commenced her care career with the NHS, working with adults with learning disabilities whilst also respite foster caring for children with leaning disabilities.

Louise has worked at Notton House Academy for 17 years where she oversees all aspects of Care and Independent living. She is firmly committed to her role at NHA.

My care ethos is "every pupil should receive an equal  opportunity to achieve.

Deputy Headteacher: Paul Kearley

Paul trained as a Science teacher in 1999 at Liverpool John Moore’s University as part of a BSc in Science and Outdoor Education. He has worked in 4 schools prior to joining Notton House, both in the UK and abroad. He has held positions leading science departments and also leading on whole school teaching and learning. 

Whilst Paul is always committed to helping students secure the best possible progress in the classroom, through his experiences in the outdoors, he is also determined to help students develop their character.

My educational ethos is based on helping students realise what their best looks like in order for them to no longer be willing to settle for anything less.

SENDCo: Linda Hawkey (DDSL)

Linda completed her Bachelor of Education at UWE, Bristol, in 1994, and has worked in a number of primary schools both in the UK and in New Zealand. Her roles have included Year Leader and SENDCO and she has completed a Masters in Education, the NPQSL course, and a PGDip Course in Special Teaching Needs.

Since returning to the UK in 2017, Linda has worked in the SEN sector and has recently completed her National Award for SENDCo's course. Linda is passionate about supporting the needs of children with learning and SEMH difficulties, and working to remove the barriers they face to learning.

My educational ethos is that all children can learn, and it is us as educators that need to change our approach to ensure that they do.
