Senior Leadership Team

Executive Principal: Darren Ewings

Darren arrived at Notton House Academy in September 2018 as an interim lead, also being Head Teacher of Knowle Dge school in Bristol (both schools are part of Learn@MAT). Darren has many years worth of working in SEMH, EBD and ASC settings and will bring a wealth of knowledge to assist the current leadership team.

Headteacher: Michelle Reysenn

Michelle Reysenn, is Headteacher at Notton House Academy.

Michelle trained as an English teacher in 2001 at Oxford Brookes University, after completing a degree in English Literature at University College Worcester. She has worked in 3 schools previous to Notton House, both mainstream and special education, leading year groups as a pastoral head, and also, being a subject/ department leader. Michelle has experience as Advanced Skills Teacher and a Special Leader of Education,
Michelle has a Post Graduate Diploma in education from the University of Gloucestershire, and has completed a senior leadership qualification (NPQSL).

Associate Deputy Headteacher: Simon Raisey

Simon Raisey is an Associate Deputy Headteacher

Simon trained in Norwich as a History teacher over 20 years ago and has worked in 4 schools previous to Notton House, in both Gloucester and Swindon. Simon was a Head of Year for nearly ten years in a  mainstream provision and spent 6 years as a Deputy Headteacher of a special school in Swindon. Simon holds a senior leadership qualification from Leadership Pathways.
As a father myself  with two children that have additional needs, I feel passionate that every young person's needs are met. We strive to support our young people and maintain exceptionally high standards.
Head of Care and Pastoral: Louise Gardiner

Louise Gardiner, is Head of Care and a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead at Notton House Academy. Louise was educated at Ysgol Emrys Ap Iwan before joining the Royal Air Force in 1987 where she trained in logistics. On leaving the RAF, Louise commenced her care career with the NHS, working with adults with learning disabilities whilst also respite foster caring for children with leaning disabilities.

Louise has worked at Notton House Academy for 17 years where she oversees all aspects of Care and Independent living. She is firmly committed to her role as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
