Upper school (KS4)

Our aim is for all pupils to experience a broad and balanced curriculum which will allow them to develop their skills and knowledge and enable them to be successful in whatever they choose to do. However, we also feel pupils should be able to personalise their choices according to their needs, interests and goals. Choosing options for Key Stage 4 holds much significance for pupils and it is a process that we take very seriously.

Upper School pupils continue studying core subjects including Maths, English, Outdoor Education, PE, SMSC and PSHE (inc RE, Citizenship, Careers). From Year 10 pupils can choose their options, to help them with their next step into adulthood.

In addition, pupils have the opportunity to learn different vocations by attending provision at one of the following educational establishments;

  • KnowleDGE, Bristol
  • Rocksteady Construction, Bristol
  • Lackham Campus, Wiltshire College
  • Kandu Arts, Chippenham
  • Chippenham or Trowbridge College, Wiltshire College

  • Animal Care/ Agriculture (Land Management)
  • Hair and Beauty
  • Health and Social Care
  • Motor Vehicles
  • Construction
  • Performing Arts

At Key Stage 4, some students attend part-time or full-time alternative provision off-site, either at college or through private tutoring.

We are a forward-looking school and are always looking towards innovative ways to further improve the curriculum experience for our young people.
